Ants game tonight is @ vets not cabrillo @ 7
from a 562 phone number, Thursday, November 10, 11:53 AM EST

Cabrillo is a college in California, which is also where the 562 area code is. Vets is presumably... also a college in California? Like a veterinary school, maybe? Ants are, like, a sports team? Why would you name your sports team "the Ants"? That just doesn't sound very threatening.

Cabrillo College is actually in Aptos, California, which has the area code 831, not 562. 562 corresponds with an area near LA, while Aptos is in Santa Cruz County, which is a couple hours south of San Francisco. The text is likely referring to Cabrillo High School in Long Beach, CA, which has the 562 area code. I don't know what "Ants" or "vets" are referring to though.

Just wanted to make the correction about Cabrillo because I grew up in Santa Cruz and my dad taught at Cabrillo College for years. And it was fun trying to figure out what the text was really talking about!

I would think maybe "Vets" may refer to "Veteran's Field" or maybe "Veteran's Stadium"?

562 is Long Beach - there is a Veterans Stadium in Long Beach sort of near the college

Ants may be short for Anthony?

Ants is probably supposed to be "Ant's", I know an Anthony whose friends call him Ant sometimes.

I'm guessing ants = anteaters. The UC Irvine mascot is the anteater. Lame, I know.
